Miscreants have threatened to blow up the Chittagong Court Building, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Building and the Customs Building demanding the release of, an alleged war criminal, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury facing trial in the International Crimes Tribunal. The anonymous letter which reached Mir Ruhul Amin, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Chittagong Court , on Sunday at his office also threatened to kill the magistrate and his family members if the demand is not fulfilled.
Rezaul Masud, additional deputy commissioner (Prosecution), acknowledged the incident of threat through a letter and said that seven names are mentioned in the letter as sender.
“The security of the court building has already been tightened and we are looking into the matter”, he added.
