Bangladesh will return to coveted Champions Trophy after an 11-year layoff after they retained their top eight positions in the ICC ODI team ranking on September 30, the cut-off date for the tournament scheduled to be held in England in 2017 Bangladesh’s last participation in the ICC Champions Trophy was in India, when they featured in the qualifying round. Bangladesh have replaced the West Indies, which finished outside the top eight in ninth position, in the ICC ODI team rankings on the cut-off date on Wednesday.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will be a 15-match tournament,
with teams split into two groups of four, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the semi-finals.
The groups and the schedule for the tournament are yet to be announced.
