Bangladesh may feature in a triangular Twenty20 series with India and West Indies in United States of America in the late August, reports The Indian Express.
India and West Indies cricket boards are currently considering hosting a few Twenty20 matches at the Central Broward Regional Park at Lauderhill in Florida to boost the game in the mainland America.
The ongoing series between West Indies and India will finish on August 22 and it was learnt that Bangladesh may join both the teams in a tournament that will measure the crowd response at USA.
‘West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) officials will be meeting in Florida to sort it out. We are just waiting for the green signal,’ a source close to the development was quoted as saying in the report.
‘It’s amber already, you can say. The matches will likely be played over the last weekend of August.
‘It will be peak summer in Florida, and it will be a spectacle. However, there is slight chance of Bangladesh being invited as the third team for a tri-series,’ it added.
The chief executive officer of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nizamuddin Chowdhury said they are yet to receive any offer regarding the series and if they get it they will discuss with the team management before taking a final decision.
BCB’s media committee chief Jalal Younus, however, said that if they get any official proposal they will positively consider it.
