The Bangladesh cricket team will take on Zimbabwe in the first match of their five-match one-day series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today.
The match, due to start at 9:00am, will be telecast live on BTV.
This is the Tigers’ first international assignment since their landmark 4-0 trouncing of New Zealand in October, and their last before the World Cup to be jointly staged by Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka starting on February 19.
Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful have returned to the side while Rubel Hossain, Rokibul Hasan, and Shahriar Nafees are the players left out from the team that faced New Zealand in October.
Zimbabwe, who lost to Bangladesh 4-1 last year, will be led by the big-hitting all-rounder Elton Chigumbura.
