The Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said on Friday that they will take a decision on Sunday whether they can accommodate West Indies for a Test series in the next two months.
The BCB president said that they have received a proposal from the West Indies Cricket Board recently where they intended to tour Bangladesh somewhere in May or June.‘The WICB sent a proposal to play Test with us. On Sunday, I will go to BCB and finalise the matter after going through our international schedules,’ said Nazmul.
‘They have given us a particular date and we need to see whether it clashes with the IPL or not because we have to call back Sakib [al
Hasan] and Mustafizur [Rahman].
‘But there is every possibility as they have shown interest and I don’t see any reason of not
playing against them,’ he said.
A source within the BCB said that the chance of Bangladesh playing a Test series against the West Indies is unlikely as the Caribbeans are scheduled to play a tri-series
involving Australia and South Africa from June 3 to 26.
With the IPL scheduled to end on May 29, it is unlikely for West Indies to come up with a full-strength squad
for a Test series in Bangladesh.
