A man, who was talking on the mobile and walking along the railway, was killed as a train hit him in the Gazipur district headquarters on Tuesday night.
Another man, a garment worker, was killed in the same manner at Kaliakair in the district 18 days ago.
Local people said Shahidul, a worker of the Aarong Milk factory at Deshipara, was returning home after his night-shift duty and he was walking along the railway talking on the mobile.
He died as a train headed for Rajshahi hit him from behind at Bhurulia. He died on the spot.
Shahidul, a resident of Makshedpur in the Sherpur district headquarters, had lived in a rented house in the area.
Sahidul’s brother Swapan said he had just arrived to take his brother home in their village on the occasion of Eid. ‘Now I have to take the body home.’
On August 13, a apparel factory worker, Sadekur Rahman, 24, was killed as train knocked him from behind when he was walking down the railway talking on the mobile.
Sadekur was a resident of Pirganj in Thakurgaon and worked with the dying unit of the Fair Trade Group at Purba Chandra.
