Leaders of the Television Peshajibi Oikya Parishad met the information minister, Hasanul Huq Inu, at his secretariat office on Sunday.
Tushar Khan, Dipankar Dipon, Golam Sohrab Dudul, Choinika Chowdhury and Tanvin Switee along with a number of artistes were present during the meeting, said an official handout.
The acting information secretary, Mortuja Ahmed, was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, convener of the parishad Tarique Anam Khan called for limiting airing of programmes made of foreign artistes, producers and writers for the sake of flourishing local culture and tradition.
He also favoured fixation of minimum rates programme rates of TV channels.
