Ornab Wahid, 28, cousin of killed Tanvir Muhammad Twaki sustained bullet injury in an attack by some miscreants in Narayanganj on Friday night. A group of 10-12 miscreants fired at Ornab in the town’s Khanpur Jora Tanky areas at about 8pm and later injured Ornab was taken to Khanpur Hospital by the local people. Ornab is the son of poet Wahid Reza. Ornab is a second year student of a private university Ulab at Dhanmondi.
Ornab’s friend Saimon said that his friend was walking in the town’s Khanpur area before he was shot.
Saimon further said that he was informed over cell phone that his friend was rescued in the town’s Don Chamber area.
Delwar Hossain, assistant sub-inspector of Narayanganj Model police station told The Independent that Ornab was taken to his residence Amlapara from the hospital after his treatment. They are investigating the matter, he added.
Tanvir Mohammad Twaki, son of local Ganajagaran leader Rafiur Rabbi, was found dead in the Shitalakhya River on March 8, two days after his missing. The killing caused a widespread protest in the district.
