Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League were arrested on Friday noon for their alleged involvement in Thursday’s clash between two groups of students at Ziaur Rahman hall of Dhaka University.
Central leaders of the BCL, the student wing of the Awami League, provided the provost the names of Maola Baki and Ziaul Huq, residents of the hall, for being involved in Thursday’s incident.
The provost Borhan Uddin Khan told New Age that police arrested the two as the hall authority requested for action against those involved in establishing control over the dormitory.
Shahbagh Thana’s office-in-charge Rezaul Karim said that Salman, who was injured in the incident, did not file any case till Friday evening.
The BCL president Sohel Rana Tipu said, ‘If the victims of the incident want to file case, they can. We gave the name to the police to maintain peace in the hall.’
