A good performance in the last two rounds enabled Bangladeshi golfer Siddikur Rahman to rise to joint-eighth position in the Indonesia Open in Jakarta.
Siddik posted two-under-par 69 in the third round on Saturday to improve on his previous day’s position of joint-13th. The 29-year-old Bangladeshi golfer had also
completed round two on Saturday as he still had two remaining shots from the previous round.
The Madaripur golfer hit six-under-par 65 in round two to improve his fortunes drastically after registering a par score in the opening round.
Five birdies and three bogeys in the penultimate round on Saturday ensured Siddik will be in the running for top spot in the final round today.
Siddik hit the birdies in the 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 14th and 17th holes while the bogeys came in the 4th, 6th and 13th holes.
Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond and Gaganjeet Bhullar of India were jointly leading the standings in the US$750,000 tournament after day three, with Indian golfers
Jyoti Randhawa in joint-fifth position and Anirban Lahiri joint-11th. South African major winner Retief Goosen was mired in joint-23rd place.
