The success of striker Sabina Khatun in Maldives last month opened the door of other Bangladeshi women footballers as Maldives National Defense Force’s outfit Dhivehi Sifainge Club picked two other Bangladeshi players for the Football Association of Maldives Women’s Championship. National midfielder Mirona and goalkeeper Sabina Akter will fly along with striker Sabina, who scored tournament best 37 goals from six matches for Maldives Police Club in the Maldives Women’s Futsal Fiesta on April this year.
The MAF Women’s Championship will be kicked off on May 24 and will be concluded on June 12. Sabina and her compatriots are expected to play four matches there.
Mahfuza Akter Kiron, the deputy chairperson of BFF women’s wings, said that Sabina will earn an amount which is double than that she earned during her last trip.
