Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s football team ended their AFC Under-16 Women’s Championship campaign with a narrow 2-3 defeat to Australia in Chonburi in Thailand on Sunday.
Even though Bangladesh finished at the bottom of Group B with three straight defeats, they played some brilliant football against their Australian counterparts despite playing with one less player for at least one hour.

Australia returned to the game in the 78th minute when Kyra Cooney’s curling corner beat Bangladesh goalkeeper Mahmuda.
Substitute Sofia Sakalish sealed the victory for Australia in the 83rd minute by tapping home from a goal mouth melee following a corner.
