United Commercial Bank (UCB) launched mobile financial service “UCash” at Pan Pacific Sonargaon on Saturday. This initiative of mobile financial service is an innovative approach of UCB to spread banking service and facilities to the vast majority of unbanked population of the country. Chairman of UCB MA Hashem inaugurated the programme, says a press release. Among others, vice-chairman of UCB Sharif Zahir, chairman of executive committee Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, chairman of Audit Committee Lt. Gen (Retd.) ATM Zahirul Alam, rcds, psc, directors–MA Sabur, Md Jahangir Alam Khan, Md Tanvir Khan–managing director Muhammed Ali were present at the event.
To ensure smooth, prompt and uninterrupted service across the country, Ucash has already appointed over 10,000 agents. Initially the service of UCash will be available through ROBI and Airtel. It will be accessible through all the mobile networks very soon. UCash is currently providing mobile financial service facilities like money transfer, purchasing and money deposit.
But one special feature that UCash is coming up with for the first time is interest on deposit. People will get interest on the money deposited by UCash service from the very first day.
