Bangladesh Under-16 women’s football team notched up their third successive win in the AFC Under-16 Women’s Championship Qualifying match when they routed Kyrgyzstan 10-0 on Wednesday.
Krishna Rani slammed a hat-trick while Anuching Mogini and Samsunnahar, each bagged a brace to help the hosts celebrate a massive win, the biggest for any side in Group C so far.
Bangladesh, who have scored 18 goals so far in three matches and conceded none, however, still lagging behind Chinese Taipei to second place as the latter struck 21 goals in three matches.
Taipei, who conceded a goal, lead Bangladesh by two goals in the points table thanks to their 9-0 win over Singapore on Wednesday.
Bangladesh missed a lot of scoring chances in their first two matches but were not prepared to do the same mistake against the Kyrgyz, which left their coach Golam Robbani Choton satisfied.
‘I’m really happy to see the players have been improving match by match,’ Choton said after the match.
‘They rectified their mistakes and tried their best to win by a big margin. Even though we are still behind of Chinese Taipei, I would like to give all the credits to my players for their effort till the last whistle.
‘In the first two games we missed some open chances but this time our players made little mistake and grabbed most of the chances, which is a good sign.’
Choton, who has been guiding most of the members in this team for the last two and a half years, believed his players can maintain their performance against Chinese Taipei in the next game.
‘I watched all three games of Chinese Taipei and no doubt they are a good team but if my players can play their natural game, we will leave the field with a good result.’
Bangladesh took a 4-0 lead in the first half with Anuching opened the net in the 21st minute before Marzia doubled the margin nine minutes later.
Bangladesh captain Krishna extended the lead in the 44th minute with a tap in and Anuching made it 4-0 in the added time of the first half.
Krishna netted her second of the night three minutes into the second half with a curled effort from outside of the penalty box.
Defender Samsunnahar joined the goal feast in the 68th minute after scoring from the spot.
Nargis Khatun scored the seventh goal for Bangladesh in the 75th minute while Krishna completed her hat-trick in the 80th minute following an assist from substitute forward Tahura Khatun.
Maria made it 9-0 in the 84th minute and Shamsunnahar netted her second to seal the victory a minute later.
In the day’s other match Iran managed a comfortable 5-0 win against United Arab Emirates.
