Amol Roy, Ranjan Ram, Alamgir Hossain and Laxman Lal moved into the semifinals of the Runner Group Victory Day Open Tennis Tournament at the Naogaon Tennis Club yesterday.
Amol beat Delwar Hossain 6-4, 6-4; Ranjan defeated Anwar Hossain 6-3, 6-3; Alamgir outplayed Rustam Ali 6-3, 6-2 while Laxman Lal overcame Mofazzal Hossain 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
In the women’s draw, Sathi Sarkar edged Ayesha Sultana 6-3, 7-6; Nadia Afrin overcame a tough challenge from Jhilik Chakma in 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win; while Ishita Afroze eased past Naznin Sultana 6-3, 6-1 to book their places in the last four.
