Sony Pictures has scheduled the release date for the third instalment of the “Venom” movie series, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, for July 12, 2024. While the film remains untitled for now, it marks the first time the franchise ventures into the summer movie season.
The previous two films, “Venom” (2018) and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” (2021), were both released in early October. This upcoming release will position “Venom 3” between Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King” (July 5, 2024) and Universal’s “Twisters” (July 19, 2024).
In addition to “Venom 3,” Sony has also set a release date for the fourth “Bad Boys” movie, reuniting Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The untitled sequel is set to hit theatres over Father’s Day weekend on June 14, 2024, competing with Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2.”
Alongside these announcements, Sony made significant changes to its release calendar. “Kraven the Hunter” and a “Ghostbusters” sequel have both been delayed until 2024, while “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” has been removed from the schedule.
