Walton, a sister concern of RB Group, signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday to become the franchise owner of Dhaka division in the forthcoming National Cricket League.
BCB director and tournament committee chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain and executive director of PR and media of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited Humayun Kabir signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Walton was the second company to enter the NCL after Prime Bank was the first to sign the franchise agreement with the BCB. The remaining four franchises are in talks with the Board and will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, the format of the longer-version tournament which will see six divisions compete after Dhaka Metro and Rangpur division were omitted from this edition, will be finalised in the Board meeting on October 10.
