Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Wedneday said that the verdicts of war crimes trial would be executed in July-August, if the apex court upheld the tribunal verdicts in the cases.
The minister made the remark addressing a discussion meeting held at Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Party office in the city. JSD organised the meeting over executing tribunal verdict of war crimes trial. The discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, by JSD General Secretary Sharif Nurul Ambia, Joint Secretary Nazmul Haque and Organising Secretary Karim Shikder while Mir Kashem presided over the meeting. “No conspiracy of Khaleda Zia will be fruitful against the trial of war criminals. The verdict will be executed after completing legal procedures,” the lawmaker said.
Expressing hope, he said, the government will be strict to ensure capital punishment for the war criminals.
“It is high time to ban Jammat-Shibir politics. The government should bar Jamaat politics immediately,” he added.
Pointing his finger at Khaleda Zia, he added, “She has taken position to protect war criminals shamelessly and is trying to oust the incumbent government. She does not want dialogue and election in the country. She is trying to oust the government by creating anarchy on the street,” he said.
Terming Tarique Rahman as ‘thief’, the minister said, apart from of the war criminals, the opposition leader is also trying to save her elder son, who is accused in money laundering case.
