Akhi Almagir, a popular adhunik singer, is recognised for her stage performances both within and outside our country. She has been singing for over a decade and her mesmerising voice has carried her to the peak of her career. Apart from her musical talent she was a TV host, a model and won the National Film Award as a child artiste. Recently, in a chat with The Daily Star, she told us about how modern songs are hitting a new high.“We are all in a transitional state, and music is changing all the time. Modern music has emerged because the audience likes to hear new kinds of music. No one wants to hear dated music, our generation always wants change.”
“We should not sing for the sake of singing. We need to feel the vibes of the target audience and what they would like to hear and with that in mind, we should keep our folk songs alive by making a fusion of them with modern songs,” she concludes.
