Abahani Limited came from behind to beat Uttar Baridhara 2-1 in the Airtel Under-18 Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
In the second match of the day, defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited were held to a goalless by Brothers Union. Uttar Baridhara took the lead in the ninth minute through forward Harunur Rashid, who beat two Abahani defenders before slotting the ball past Abahani keeper Sayeedur Rahman.
But the Sky Blues scored twice in the stoppage time of the first half when Arifur Rahman’s header off a Hamid’s cross from the right flank went into the net.
Abahani defender Ibrahim Hossain sealed the victory with a 10-yard effort.
Brothers Union dominated all through the game against Mohammedan but both the sides left the field with a single point.
