A woman was killed by two crocodiles at the shrine of Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali under Bagerhat Sadar upazila in Bagherhat early Sunday.
The deceased, Moriam Begum, daughter of Shahidul Islam, was from Nonadanga village under the same upazila.
Witnesses said that as Moriam went to the pond for wash at about 5:00am the crocodiles swooped on her, dragging her to the middle of the pond. Hearing her scream, people rushed there but failed to save her.
The police, being informed, recovered the body and handed it over to her family in the morning, said the Bagerhat police officer-in-charge Moazzem Hossain.
