Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club earned an emphatic 117-run victory over Kalabagan KC in a rain-interrupted match of the 5th Women’s Club Cricket at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondhi Club scored moderate 201 for 4 in stipulated 40 overs with 98 runs coming in the opening stand in 21.5 overs.Opener Sharmin Supta contributed polished 75 runs off 107 balls with four boundaries while another opener Farzana Haque Pinky scored 70-ball 51 runs, with seven boundaries.
Shaila Sharmin (15), Jahanara Alam (15 no), Panna Ghosh (11 n.o) and Lata Mandol (10) were the other notable contributors for Sheikh Jamal DC who reached double figure.
Ishma Tanzim claimed two wickets for 51 runs while Farzana Akhter took one for 13 runs.
Chasing a revised target of 161 runs in 28 overs, Kalabagan KC scored 43 for 8 in 27.5 overs before the match was called-off due to rain. Opener Sultana Khatun scored 14 runs.
Subarna Islam captured three wickets for 9 runs and Khadiza-tul Kobra grabbed two wickets for 8 runs.
Later, Sheikh Jamal DC was declared winners by 117 runs as per parabola method.
