The Bangladesh Football Federation began the FIFA Women’s Refereeing Course for the first time on Monday, with 22 women’s referees from various districts taking part.
Renowned athlete Nazmunnahar Beauty, who received her class-3 refereeing certificate at the beginning of the year, is also taking part in the course conducted by Japanese referee and FIFA refereeing instructor Mayumi Oiwa.
Mayumi refereed two games at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup in China and was also the fourth official in the final between Germany and Brazil. The local instructors are referees committee member M R Mukul and fitness instructor Ibrahim Nesar.
BFF women’s wing chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu inaugurated the five-day course. AFC executive committee member and BFF women’s wing deputy chair Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, BFF executive committee member Sheikh Maruf Hasan and referees’ committee deputy chairman Monirul Islam were also present.
