The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance is going to enforce yet another three-day hartal from Monday demanding restoration of non-party election-time government.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BNP standing committee at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in the city on Thursday night. Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia presided over the meeting.
The meeting sources however said the programme would be discussed and reviewed at the top level meeting of the BNP and its allies at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office on Friday night.
The fresh programme is likely to be announced after the meeting of the 18-party alliance.
Earlier, the BNP-led 18-party alliance enforced two countrywide 60-hour hartal that left at least 20 people killed and several hundreds injured.
The standing committee meeting reviewed the latest development in the political arena, the possible programme after announcement of the election schedule and dialogue with ruling Awami League.
The meeting which began at 9:30 pm and lasted till 11:00 pm also decided to send a high level party delegation to visit Sathia in Pabna to see and hear about the attacks on the minority people.
Sources said the party policymakers were of the opinion that the 18-party alliance should not take part in the election under a political government.
