Police recovered the body of an unidentified youth from a roadside dustbin near the Ansar camp at Mirpur in the city yesterday.
They suspect the victim, aged around 22, might have been strangled.
After recovering the body around 8:30pm, Mirpur police sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Zahid Hasan, a rent-a-car driver, told police that two youths hired his car from Mirpur Section-1 and got a travel bag into the car from a house at Section-6.
They asked him to pull over near the Ansar camp and dumped the bag in the dustbin there. They paid him and left the place hurriedly, said Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirpur Police Station, quoting the driver.
Zahid informed the matter to a patrol team of Rapid Action Battalion.
