Ziaur Rahman smashed a cracking century on the Bangladesh A team’s tour of England against Nottinghamshire in their one-day match at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
Batting first, A team piled up a big total of 292-7 in 50 overs with Zia making an unbeaten 104 from 69 balls with seven sixes and as many boundaries.
He came to the crease at a time when the tourists were teetering at 147-6 in 30.3 overs but his mighty hitting all over the ground changed the scenario of the game.
Earlier, Shamsur Rahman (52 from 59 balls) and Mominul Haque (47 off 51 balls) repaired the early damage when they were reeling at 18-2 before Zia, aided by Elias Sunny with 37 not out, gave them their first decent total on the tour.
In reply, Nottinghamshire were 49-3 in 15 overs when reports last came in.
