Aminul officially highest paid player ever
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, the new Bangladesh League entrants, wrapped up their player registration formalities quietly on the first day of player transfers on Friday.
The newcomers decided not to bring the players from the training camp at BKSP. Team manager Anwarul Karim Helal and women’s football secretary Mahfuza Akhter Kiron submitted the list to the BFF officials.
The Dhanmondi-based club enrolled 17 players for their maiden season with national goalkeeper Aminul Haque getting Tk 21 lakh and ace forward Zahid Hasan Emily Tk 18 lakh.
Aminul, also the national skipper, became officially the highest paid footballer in the history of Bangladesh football after Monem Munna and Md Shujon, who both received Tk 20 lakh from Abahani Ltd in 1992 and 2004 respectively..
Manzur Kader, president of Dhanmondi Club, explained the reasons for not bringing the players to the BFF. ‘We already have introduced the players to the media people and thought there was no reason to spoil a whole practice session, our coach is very serious about preparation and he has spent just a few days with the players. Moreover, we have seen many clubs failed to hit the target after starting with a bang, we believe in work, not words,’ said Kader.
The 17 newly recruited players of Dhanmondi Club are Aminul Hoque, Md. Ariful Islam,
Waly Faisal, Nasirul Islam Nasir, Mamunul Islam Mamun, Zahid Hossain, Abdul Baten Majumder Komol, Shakil Ahmed, Zahid Hasan Emily and MN Shakil (Dhaka Mohammedan); Sujan, Atiqur Rahman Mishu, Shahedul Alam Shahed and Enamul Haque (Abahani Ltd); Rezaul Karim and Tauhidul Alam Sabuj (Farashganj); Mintu Sheikh (Feni Soccer Club).
Meanwhile, Arambagh Krira Sangha also registered seven players including two foreigners. Guinean defender Mustafa Kaba and Nigerian midfielder Benjamin Cooper along with Akram Hossain, Khan Sharif, Parvez Sarkar, Syed Rasel Turjo and Mostafizur Rahman Munna renewed their contracts with the club.
