The line-up of the Grameen-phone Federation Cup final round completed on Friday with Muktijoddha Sangsad and newcomer Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club emerging champions in respective groups.
Two goals from midfielder Alamgir Kabir Rana helped Muktijoddha to beat Farashganj Sporting Club 3-0 in Group C last match before Sheikh Jamal blanked Aramabagh KC by 2-0 at the Kamalapur stadium .
They join Bangladesh League champion Abahani, runners-up Mohammedan SC, Sheikh Russel KC and Feni Soccer Club and qualifiers Chittagong Abahani and Brothers Union in the eight-team final round, starting from Monday.
Muktijoddha had defeated Bangladesh Navy by 8-1 in their previous match while star-studded Jamal had thumped Younmen’s Club Fakirerpool 3-0 in their tournament opener.
James Moga broke the deadlock in the 27th minute to give Muktijoddha Sangsad a well deserved lead against Farashganj on Friday. Rana added two more in the 57th and 63rd minute respectively to complete the rout.
Striker Enamul Haque struck both goals for Jamal respectively in 58th and 69th minute. His first goal came from a penalty.
