Dhaka Gladiators’ disgruntled English cricketer Owais Shah has walked out of the Bangladesh Premier League days after a drama unfolded over his payment, said the officials.
Shah was involved in an ugly episode when he alleged that he was not paid by the franchise despite several promises. The franchise shifted the blame on BCB saying that it had delayed the process despite receiving the money from them.
The BCB initially said they could not transfer the money to Shah’s account as the franchise did not submit his agreement paper. Later BCB said they transferred the money to a wrong account provided by Shah.
Shah admitted his mistake and apologised through his agent a day before he left Dhaka on February 3.
Gladiators said Shah will return on February 8, but his agent Simon Auteri could not confirm the date.
