The Bangladesh national women’s football team romped to a resounding 6-1 win over Indian Football Association XI in an international friendly at the Salt Lake Stadium in
Kolkata on Sunday courtesy of a Sabina Khatun hat-trick.
Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited striker Sabina scored in the 21st, 45th and 50th minutes to save her side from any probable debacle.
Sabina’s fellow attacker, Abahani Limited’s Aungmra Ching Marma bagged a brace in the 56th and 62nd minutes to deepen the opposition’s worries. Midfielder Mirona scored the other goal in the 36th minute.
Shoma registered the consolation goal for IFA XI five minutes from the final whistle.
The Bangladesh team will play their next game today against the same opposition at the Kalyani stadium in Kolkata.
Bangladesh are taking part in these friendly matches as part of their build-up for the qualifying round of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup which is scheduled to begin on May 21.
