Expatriate footballer Reasat Khaton will finally arrive in Dhaka today at 5:40pm to join the national team trials, the Bangladesh Football Federation said on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Reasat, a youth product of SC Freiburg, currently plays for German 4th division club VB Cloppenburg. He has also played for KSV Hessen Kassel, FSC Lohfelden and FC Schwalmstadt in his career.
Reasat’s name is not on the 26-member squad list ahead of the team’s tour of Thailand, but he will have chance to stay with the national if he impresses coach Lodewijk de Kruif. The Dutch coach is eager to observe the newcomer.
‘Every day I see good things and every day I see things we can improve; that is why the group is still 26 [players]. One player will come from Germany tomorrow [Thursday]. I am very
happy with that. I want to test him, because we need all the quality we can get,’ said De Kruif, after a friendly match against Team BJMC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
