Germany boss Joachim Low has hailed Franck Ribery as the best player in the Bundesliga last season, reports goal.com. The Bayern Munich and France winger played an integral role in the Bavarians’ stunning treble success, scoring 11 goals in all competitions and creating a further 22, in what was a remarkable campaign for both the player and his club. For that reason, Low felt that Ribery was a most worthy recipient of 11 Freunde’s ‘Player of the Season’ award for 2012-13.
‘He is characterised by outstanding technical skills and an incredible feel for the rhythm of the game,’ the 53-year-old trainer wrote in the German magazine.
‘But what was particularly noteworthy was his defensive play, which he celebrated as passionately as his inimitable dribbles.
‘Yet, despite all the tactical discipline he displayed, he was still always able to surprise his opponent. Franck Ribery is a player for whom one likes to come to the stadium – because he is always able to amaze us all.’
Ribery, 30, joined die Roten from Marseille in 2007 and last month signed a new four-year contract with Bayern.
