Singer turned actor Agun performs as an obstinate young man in the drama serial Black and White – a character he can relate to himself – which is aired on Sundays and Mondays at 8:20pm on ETV.
Agun told New Age that he was also acting in another drama serial Probasey Parobasey, directed by Sakal Ahmed.
Channel-i airs the drama serial at 9:35pm on the same days.
‘Black and White, written by Iftekkher Ahmed Fahmi and directed by Arko Mostafa, is about a married couple where the husband is obdurate and sometimes even haughty. The inflexibility of the husband creates difficulties in the conjugal life of the couple,’ Agun told New Age.
The drama serial also stars Nadia, Sanjida Prity, Arman Parvez Murad and others informed the actor.
‘It is a unique character having both good and bad sides. Sometimes he misbehaves with his wife while sometimes he protests against wrongdoings so it is actually quite a dynamic character,’ Agun said.
However, Agun believes that film is the ultimate arena of proving an artiste’s acting abilities so it is his target to act in a film. ‘I am very particular when it comes to working in films, as I think films are a permanent form of art, some of them may last even after hundred years’, added Agun, who used to act in films directed by his father Khan Ataur Rahman when he was a child.
I recently have signed a government funded film titled Ekkattorer Ma Janoni directed by Shah Alam Kiran. Though I do not want to disclose the details of the movie right now, but I can say that the film is based on the War of Independence in 1971,’ informed Agun.
Agun, who is more popularly known as a singer, shared his plans about releasing audio albums. ‘I am always lending my voice for film playbacks and have no immediate plans to release any audio album but I am determined to release an album featuring the Tagore songs in near future,’ informed Agun.
