Super-sub Wahed Ahmed gave Mohammedan Sporting Club a last-minute 1-0 win over Uttar Baridhara in their Bangladesh Premier League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. When the match looked to be going towards a certain goalless draw, Wahed earned the black-and-white giants full three points with a perfect right-footed finish. Earlier, Mohammedan forwards spoiled a series of scoring opportunities all through the match.
However, in the last minute of the stipulated time of the match, Wahed finally broke the deadlock by putting home an Arup Baidya’s low cross from the right flank.
With the victory Mohammedan remained in third place with 20 points after the end of 11th round matches, while Uttar Baridhara remained in bottom place with six points from same number on games.
Earlier in the day, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra thrashed Team BJMC 4-2. The all Reds also beat BJMC 2-1 in their first-phase encounter.
With the victory, Muktijoddha moved up to fourth place in the points table with 18 points from 11 matches while Team BJMC remained in seventh position after their second consecutive defeat in the second phase.

Nkwocha Kingsley put Muktijoddha in front in the 23rd minute following a free-kick by Sunday Chizuba. BJMC goalkeeper Arif failed to grip Sunday’s grounder from just outside the box and an unmarked Nkwocha sent the rebounder into the net.

Nkwocha netted his second

After conceding three goals BJMC managed to reduce the margin in the 58th minute when Nigerian midfielder Samson Iliasu put the ball home from a Mahadi Hasan Tapu’s cross.
Muktijoddha completed their demolition act as another Nigerian marksman, Sunday, joined the goal fest in the 61st minute with a stunning curling shot.
Sunday failed to double his tally as his powerful shot hit the crosspiece in the 67th minute.
