Attacking trio Enamul Haque, Nkwocha Kingsley and Sunday Chizuba sscored one goal apiece as Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra secured a comfortable 3-1 win over defending champions Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra in the Bangladesh Premier League in Gopalganj on Thursday.
Veteran striker Enamul put Muktijoddha ahead in the last minute of the first half, but Russell striker Mithun Chowdhury restored parity five minutes into the second half.
Muktijoddha, however, took the lead in the very next minute through Nigerian forward Kingsley and his compatriot Sunday sealed the victory in the 67th minute.
The win didn’t bring any change in the league order as Muktijoddha remained in fourth place with 37 points from 23 matches and Russell are struggling in sixth place on 29 points from the same number of outings.
Meanwhile, Uttar Baridhara decided not to play their today’s match against Team BJMC and demanded full three points instead against the side.
The match was originally scheduled to be held on Wednesday, but the BFF changed the fixture at the eleventh hour, throwing the league into a serious chaos.
Baridhara ignored the BFF’s last minute notice and arrived at the field as per schedule to claim full points.
