The Bangladesh Football Federation on Saturday announced a 23-member preliminary squad for the friendly against Japan U-21 team, scheduled to be held on December 18 in Dhaka.
Striker Shakhawat Hossain Rony and defender Atiqur Rahman Meshu were recalled into the side while winger Yousuf Sifat and midfielder Atiqur Rahman Fahad, who were part of the squad for two FIFA friendlies against Sri Lanka in October, have been left out.
The preliminary squad features 12 players from the reigning Bangladesh Premier League champions Sheikh Jamal DC, six from Mohammedan SC, three from Abahani and one each from Sheikh Russel KC and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC.
Bangladesh won one of the two friendlies against Sri Lanka and drew the other in their latest international engagement.
The camp for the national team will start under the guidance of interim coach Saiful Bari Titu from Monday.
