Saudi Arabia came from the behind to notch up a 5-1 win in their AFC Under-16 Championship qualifying opener against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Sarowar Zaman Nipu scored a superb goal chipping over the goalkeeper to put Bangladesh ahead in 28th minute before Almas Naif struck from a goal-mouth melee six minutes from the break to keep the score 1-1 in the first-half.
The match swung decisively to Saudi Arabia’s way after Bangladesh goalkeeper Faisal Ahmed received a marching order and the visitors took full advantage to score four more goals through Albrikan, Mali, Aldhuwayhi and Alabdan Hamad.
Bangladesh will take on United Arab Emirates on Friday in their second and last Group-D match at the same venue.
