Croatian Drago Mamic has been appointed as the coach of Abahani Limited football team for the ongoing season, the club announced on Sunday.
Abahani recruited the Serbian born coach after they failed to secure the service of Austrian George Cottan, the former national coach who worked for the club last season.
The 62-year-old Mamic arrived on Sunday and watched Abahani’s Independence Cup match against Arambagh at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the afternoon.
Mamic, a UEFA Pro Licensed coach has the experience of coaching in Asia for around 16 years.
He had previously managed Myanmar and Maldives national football team as head coach.
Mamic also coached Indian Super League side Churchill Brothers in 2010-11 and lastly managed Indonesia Super League club Persib Bandungs.
