The Bachao Football group, which threw a challenge to the incumbent president Kazi Salahuddin-led panel in the forthcoming elections of Bangladesh Football Federation, promised to develop the game at district level if they are elected. The panel announced their 14-point plan of action at a city hotel ahead of April 30 election, without putting too much attention on the performance of national football team.
‘If we can fulfill our 14 points successfully, the national team will develop automatically,’ said Kamrul Ashraf Khan Poton, the president candidate of Bachao Football panel and a Member of Parliament of Narshingdi-2 constituency.
‘We believe in works, not in words.’
In the election manifesto the panel said they will run the federation transparently and ensure accountability for everyone involved. The panel said they will hold tournament at district level regularly and distribute football kits to district teams.
They also promised to include district and divisional organisers in different standing committee of BFF.
The panel said it will develop the BFF Football Academy in Sylhet
and set up eight academies in every divisional headquarters.
They also promised to resume two nation-wide tournaments Sher-e-Bangla Cup and Suhrawardi Cup to ensure more playing opportunity for the players of district level.
