Mohammedan Sporting Club’s winless run continued in the JB Group Bangladesh Premier League as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Team BJMC at the Rafikuddin Bhuiyan Stadium, Mymensingh on Sunday.
Towhidul Alam Sabuz put Mohammedan ahead in the added time of the first half before Moklesur Rahman Mukul squared the margin in the second half to give BJMC a point. The third draw kept BJMC in the ninth position with three points from four matches, one position ahead of Mohammedan, who also earned same three points from as many matches.
BJMC wasted a great chance to take the lead in the 9th minute when Nigerian midfielder Samson Iliasu provided a nice cutback to Sohel Rana, whose placing was blocked by Mohammedan goalkeeper Rana Biswas.
Mohammedan captain Sabuz finally broke the deadlock in the added time of the first half when he placed the ball in the far corner of the post from the edge of the box following an Aminur Rahman Sozib’s through pass from left flank.
Sozib failed to double the lead in the third minute of the second half when his long range effort over advancing keeper Hemel following a through pass of Sabuz went wide of the post.
BJCM, however, leveled the margin in the 73rd minute when Moklesur Rahman headed home on a low corner of substitute midfielder Abdullah Parvez from the right flag.
