A passenger will have to pay Tk100 to travel from Uttara to Kamalapur

The fare for the first metro rail service in the country is set at Tk 5 per kilometer. The minimum fare was set at Tk20, while the fare for the entire Mass Rapid Transit Line 6 route from Uttara to Motijheel was set at Tk100.
Road Transport And Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed the information while inaugurating an information and exhibition centre at the Uttara depot on Tuesday.
The DMTCL has decided to operate the electric trains for 16 hours a day in 10-minute intervals once the service is launched. Ten trains will run between Uttara and Agargaon from 6am to midnight.
As demand increases, the frequency of trains will be increased. If enough passengers use the service, the gap between trains will be reduced to seven minutes.
The government has set a December deadline to inaugurate the metro train service from Uttara to Agargaon.The remaining stretch of the metro – from Agargaon to Motijheel — will be unveiled next year.
