There is already a lot of buzz surrounding Apple’s newest iPhone 14 series lineup. Along with a host of new features, Apple has also announced that all variants of the iPhone 14 series will not include a SIM tray or a SIM tray pin. This is a ground-breaking new development.
Many tech enthusiasts in Bangladesh were stunned by this announcement. Does that imply that using this smartphone would require an e-SIM for Bangladeshis?
Actually, no! The following is why:
First off, during the announcements, a crucial detail was overlooked by many of us: US – Only. Yes, iPhone 14 series will only support e-SIM for US-only models. Anyone could buy an iPhone 14 series with SIM slots in other markets,
including as Singapore, Malaysia, and the Middle East. If you intend to purchase an iPhone 14 series, feel free to do so from from other parts of the world. Just make sure the model you are purchasing is not the US edition.
The variants with the SIM tray will also be available to customers who purchase iPhone 14 models imported by Apple-approved dealers in Bangladesh.
It’s still not the end of the world if you purchase an iPhone 14 with an e-SIM exclusively, right? Why? Because e-SIMs are available from Grameenphone in Bangladesh. On March 1st, 2022, Grameenphone formally introduced e-SIM service in Bangladesh.
As more and more high-end smartphones migrate to e-SIMs, other carriers are anticipated to follow suit soon.
In Bangladesh, you can also use e-SIM with international service providers. On the internet, there are data bundles and plans that will give Bangladeshis access to e-SIM capability.
