Dhallywood superstar Amin Khan became hugely popular after he played the protagonist in the film “Obujh Duti Mon”. Now he is busy shooting for TV plays. In a recent conversation, the actor talked to The Daily Star about his foray in the small screen.
Why the decision to take on more TV plays
and telefilms during Eid?Amin Khan: I received much acclaim for my roles in dramas and telefilms that were aired on several TV channels. Many people urged me to work more in the field.
What’s your latest project?
Amin Khan: A one-hour, yet untitled TV play, directed by Ananonna Emon. It was shot at Uttara, with Farhana Mili from the critically acclaimed film “Monpura” as my co-star.
This month, I will be busy shooting for three telefilms. The films will be shot in Dhaka and its surrounding areas. I hope they entertain the audience.
Which medium–drama or telefilm are you more comfortable with?
Amin Khan: I am very serious about telefilms as they flesh out the storyline which is rarely seen in one-hour-plays. Due to this, I want to work more in telefilms.
What was your first TV drama?
Amin Khan: In 1996, I made my debut in a play based on a love story directed by Mohon Khan.
Have you worked in a serial as well?
Amin Khan: I did. Recently, I returned after wrapping up shooting for the serial “Kokhono Megh Kokhono Roddur” in Kolkata produced by Asian TV.
What about the future?
Amin Khan: To be honest, I will work where there are rich possibilities. I am now busy with TV plays as they offer me an opportunity for evolution as an actor
Tell us about the drama you scripted recently…
Amin Khan: It is directed by Tajo Kamrul. I would like to script more plays if I get the opportunity.
