Grammy nomination for album featuring their song

Nashid Kamal and Armeen Musa, an incredible mother-daughter duo, perform the song “Jaago Piya” on the Berklee Indian Ensemble album “Shuruaat,” which has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Global Music Album category at this year’s 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
They’ve made history by becoming the first Bangladeshis to win the Grammy.
Nashid Kamal’s daughter Armeen voices “Jaago Piya,” which she penned.
Asian music legends like Shankar Mahadevan and Ustad Zakir Hussain are also represented on the album.
International superstars like Burna Boy, Anoushka Shankar, and Masa Takumi are also up for the award in this category.
A renowned singer, author, and professor of demography, Nashid Kamal hails from Bangladesh.
Armeen is a well-known Bangladeshi singer and composer who shot to fame after recording a cover of a Radha Raman classic, “Bhromor Koio,” while still in high school.
She studied music at the illustrious Berklee College of Music.
The Annual Grammy Awards will be held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 5.
