The Dhaka-based music band Aronno launched its second album Bhalobasa.com in a launching ceremony at
Russian Cultural Centre Auditorium on Friday.
The band presented songs from the album at the launching ceremony.
Bhalobasa.com, which is released after six years of the band’s first album Taar Chhire Gechhe, is a theme based rock album with a number of melody, blues and jazz tracks.
There are nine songs in the album from which seven songs are penned and composed by the band members and the other two songs are the band’s composition of a Tagore song and a Nazrul song.
The songs in the album are Bhalobasa.com, Kedo Na, Amar Thikana, Ami Kothao Nei, Rode Jole Shohor, Bondhu, Nach Re Tora Nach, Tagore’s Aji Dhaner Khete and Nazrul’s Karar Oi Louho Kopat.
Explaining the delay in releasing its second album, the main vocalist of the band Dipto said, ‘Lyrics are very important for songs to get acclamation among the listeners. And that is why, we have tried hard to create lyrics that will last long in people’s memory. As a result, we took this long to release our second album.’
Dipto also informed that the songs are all about the young generation who think that they have freedom but in reality they are minutely controlled by the society. ‘The youth do not have the time even for poetry, books, good music, art and let alone time for free thinking,’ added Dipto.
The present lineup of the band consists of Dipto on vocal and guitar, Nadim on bass, Bikash drums and percussions, Juha on saxophone, Selim on violin, Saikot on organ and Tilok on guitar.
The album was produced under the banner of G-Series.
