Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Tuesday pledged a token contribution of $ 50,000 from the government of Bangladesh to finance the Strategic Plan for
Development of Al-Quds and Al-Sharif of Palestine.
She made the announcement during her participation in the OIC Foreign Ministers’ ‘Donor Conference on Strategic Plan for Development of Al-Quds and Al-Sharif’ and ‘Conference on Establishing an Islamic Financial Safety Net in support of the State of Palestine’, being in Baku, Azerbaijan, said a Foreign Ministry press release.
In her statement, the Foreign Minister reiterated Bangladesh’s unstinted support for a fully sovereign Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its Capital.
She informed that Bangladesh is proud to be a member of the Al-Quds Committee of OIC that is mandated to follow up the implementation of Al-Quds-related resolutions adopted by the conferences of OIC.
