India thrashed the Maldives 3-0 to set up a semi-final date against Bangladesh in the inaugural SAFF Under-19 Championship in Kathmandu Tuesday.
With the win, India finished as the Group-B champions and now will take on Group-A runners-up Bangladesh in the second semi-final on Thursday.Group-A champions Nepal will play Group-B runners-up Afghanistan in the other semi-final on the same day.
Moinuddin Ahmed gave India a deserved lead in the 41st-minute at the ANFA Complex ground after a blunder from Maldives defender Najah Hussain.
Lalramzuva doubled the lead just two minutes into the second half before Anurudh Thapa sealed the victory with a 71st minute strike.
