Tickets for the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League matches will be on sale from January 13 at Airtel outlets and a selected bank, said Bangladesh Cricket Board at a press conference on Tuesday.
Active Service, a business house, secured the rights for ticket sales and distribution for Tk 20 crore, said the BCB. The price was, however, Tk 25 crore lesser than what was paid in the first edition by Shihab Trading.
Prime Bank are holding negotiation talks with Active and it is expected that the bank will receive the right of selling the tickets from their branches though officials refused to make any formal announcement at this stage.
To encourage young spectators in the ground, the ticket pricing will be 30 percent lesser for students, who will have to provide their identity card at the time of purchase.
The same advantage can be attained by Airtel subscribers as the telecom company became the partner of Active.
The minimum price of a ticket for a double-header has been fixed at Tk 350 (Tk 245 for students and Airtel subscribers) while the maximum amounts to Tk 15,000.
The second edition of BPL will get underway with holders Dhaka Gladiators facing Khulna Royal Bengals at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on January 18 while Chittagong Kings will take on Duranto Rajshahi in the other match of the opening day.
Active said they will provide BCB 20 percent complimentary tickets for each match-day for distribution among the dignitaries and will put the rest on sale.
A total 30 percent of available tickets will be sold on mobile while 10 percent will be bought from internet.
Each person can buy maximum two tickets for each day.
Asadur Rahman, chief executive officer of Active, is confident that the three stadiums will be full to the brim everyday and to it will not be a problem for them to earn their investment.
‘We hope to sell the tickets as there will be some added attraction for the fans in the gallery,’ he said, adding that there will be several activities like lottery that will choose the best face and the best fan that will awarded with prizes from Walton.
