Brad Pitt has insisted that he chooses only quality projects in order to ensure the longevity of his career.
The Moneyball actor said that he believes filmmaking should be a process which produces movies that age like a “fine wine”.
“Filmmaking is about longevity. Is it a quality picture? A quality story? Is there something original about it? The thing we miss the most is the degree of difficulty, like in The Tree of Life,” Pitt explained to Contactmusic.
“Just to aim for something like that – I think there’s a quiet victory in the degree of difficulty there beyond what’s going to be in the record books as the best picture of the year. Films that I’ve loved doing like [The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford] and The Tree of Life, they’re ‘fine wine’ pictures – they’ll age well. They’ve got legs.”
Pitt’s longtime partner Angelina Jolie recently confessed that the couple are currently in a “retirement race” as they are desperate to spend more time at home together and with their six children.
The pair have announced plans to launch separate charities for each of their kids in order to teach them the value of philanthropy and keep them in touch with their home countries.
