Brothers Union registered a comfortable 2-0 win over a ten-man Uttar Baridhara in their opening match of the Independence Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Brothers went ahead in the 34th minute with an own goal by Baridhara defender Ariful Islam before Nkwocha Kingsley doubled the lead in the 83rd minute with a fine solo effort.
Baridhara were reduced to ten-man five minutes into the second half when defender Farhad Ahmed Shitul handled a goal bound ball and the referee had no hesitation to show him his second yellow card.
